León in the world's Hop-Growing belt

At 42.6 degrees N, León lies within the latitude range shared by major hop-growing regions. More than 15 hours of summer daylight provide favourable conditions for evaluating hop varieties from different geographical origins.

Yakima is one of the world's leading hop-growing regions. Like León, it lies within the Northern Hemisphere's main hop-growing belt, where long summer daylight supports vigorous growth.
León lies within a latitude range well suited to hop cultivation. More than 15 hours of summer daylight provide favourable conditions for evaluating varieties from different geographical origins.
Nelson lies at an absolute latitude close to León's, in the Southern Hemisphere. This makes it a valuable reference for assessing New Zealand varieties in León through multi-year agronomic trials.
